1. Information We Collect
When you create an account with AI Lake, we collect personal information such as your name, email address, and organization details. This information is necessary to provide you with access to the Service and to manage your account.
When you connect external data sources, AI Lake accesses and processes data from those sources on your behalf. This may include emails and metadata from Gmail, documents and files from Google Drive, and records and objects from Salesforce. We only access data that you explicitly authorize through OAuth consent flows.
We also collect usage data, including log information, device information, and interaction data with the Service. This data helps us understand how the Service is used and enables us to improve performance and reliability.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the AI Lake Service. This includes aggregating your data from connected sources, generating vector embeddings for semantic search capabilities, deduplicating records, and exposing your unified data through the MCP protocol and REST API.
Your account information is used to authenticate your identity, communicate with you about the Service, provide customer support, and send important notices about changes to our terms or policies. We may also use aggregated, anonymized usage data to analyze trends and improve the platform.
We do not sell your personal information or your connected data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes. Your data is processed solely for the purpose of delivering the Service as described in these terms.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and MongoDB Atlas. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher and encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. Our database clusters are deployed with network isolation and access controls.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including access controls, audit logging, regular security assessments, and monitoring for unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and any applicable regulatory authorities within the timeframes required by applicable law.
4. Third-Party Services
AI Lake integrates with third-party services to provide its core functionality. When you connect your Google account, we access Gmail and Google Drive data through the Google APIs, subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy. Salesforce data is accessed through the Salesforce API under your authorized permissions.
We use OpenAI's embedding models to generate vector embeddings from your data. When data is sent to OpenAI for embedding generation, it is transmitted securely and processed in accordance with OpenAI's data processing terms. OpenAI does not use your data to train their models when accessed through their API.
Authentication is managed through AWS Cognito. Each third-party integration requires explicit OAuth authorization from you, and you can revoke access to any connected source at any time through your account settings or directly through the third-party service.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. Aggregated and processed data from your connected sources is retained in your AI Lake workspace until you choose to delete it or disconnect the source.
When you delete your account or disconnect a data source, we will delete the associated data within thirty (30) days. Some data may be retained for longer periods if required by law, for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention, or to resolve disputes.
Backups containing your data may persist for up to ninety (90) days after deletion before being permanently purged from our backup systems.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. These may include the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, the right to restrict or object to processing, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent.
You can access and update most of your account information directly through the AI Lake dashboard. To exercise any other rights, or if you have questions about your data, please contact us at support@ai-lake.ai. We will respond to your request within thirty (30) days.
If you believe that your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.
7. Cookies
AI Lake uses essential cookies and similar technologies to enable core functionality of the Service, such as maintaining your authenticated session and remembering your preferences. These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of the platform.
We may also use analytics cookies to understand how you interact with the Service, which helps us identify areas for improvement. These cookies collect information in an aggregated and anonymized form.
You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using certain features of the Service. For more information about cookies and how to manage them, consult your browser documentation.
